Chaplaincy is about people
Training and placement for those called to walk alongside others with compassion, judgement and integrity — whatever the background or belief of the person in front of them.
It shapes who the chaplain becomes.
The work is showing up in the moments that matter: loss, uncertainty, transition, hope, hard questions. Our course prepares people who feel called to that.
It blends taught modules, supervised reflection and a real placement. Graduates are placed in hospitals, prisons, schools, workplaces and the uniformed services, and each remains accountable to the national body.
Where IMAC chaplains serve
Hospitals and hospices
Bedside presence, family support and staff care, working to the institution’s own protocols.
Prisons and remand
Regular visiting, resettlement support, and contact maintained with families on the outside.
Schools and universities
Pastoral support for students and staff, open to those of any faith or none.
Industry and uniformed services
Chaplains embedded in workplaces, on call for critical incidents.
